The final look of the Ribbon or Boulder Turquoise will depend on the mine the rough came from. The most famous look of Boulder or Ribbon Turquoise comes from the Royston and Pilot Mountain Mines in Nevada. Most of the Ribbon or Boulder Turquoise on the market is from the Royston and Pilot Mountain Mines. We do not guess it will be long until stone cutters start to cut their sawrock from other mines into Boulder or Ribbon Turquoise cabochons. We have already been cutting Ribbon and Boulder Turquoise from our Tortoise Turquoise mine, the Bisbee Turquoise mine, our Haley's Comet Mine, and the White Buffalo. The Kingman mine owners have recently started producing immitation Boulder Turquoise by sandwiching Stabilized Kingman Turquoise in between Stabilized Limonite. We kinda compare this to the way some people make intarsia or inlay cabochons. It is not AUTHENTIC Boulder or Ribbon Turquoise. Ribbon Turquoise rough from the Royston mine is extremely hard to come by these days as most of it is left in the dumps for the treasure hunters to find on the mine tours.
